Sissi
Anatomia Parallela
November 16, 2019

Sissi constructs an emotional anatomy where the hollow organs, the networks of veins and nerves, the epidermis, generate a new, wholly personal language. This language is para-scientific, in that it is made up of neologisms which develop into marvellous hypotheses with a combination of scientific knowledge and imagination. In the performance, Sissi recounts its principles by illustrating and commenting on the panels which she herself draws. With the use of a daring but perfectly comprehensible language, the artist proposes a new idea of corporeality, a reinterpretation of the organism and its functions in relation to the emotions which it experiences and which modify it internally.
