The project Pezzi Anatomici is presented as a combination of performing activities and research into the language of choreography, with a format which imitates the experimental approach of the “rehearsal studio”. In the specific case of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, we open this project to the public for its first four days.
A fixed group of dancers alternates to construct before our eyes a time of anatomical investigation which approaches moments of pure vision, using the culture of choreography as the key to a universe of thought which is elusive to the extreme.
“We decided to begin working on a new production, opening to the public on the first rehearsal days. We dance the first steps in the open, under observation. The reason remains a mystery, but I’m convinced that this show, which develops out of the desire to reinvent a body language with new anatomical dynamics, is in some way linked to animality, something we experience above all as captivity, as being put in a cage. Or, in the anatomical/scientific cabinet, it becomes a momentary strategy to trigger creation and seek in live mode the naturalness we need” (Michele Di Stefano).
