For the first reading of her novel Voir de Ses Propres Yeux (Seeing with One’s Own Eyes) published in January 2020 with Editions du Seuil as part of the La Librairie du XXe siècle collection, Hélène Giannecchini has created an event in which her text interacts with images and music.
In this book, anatomy and its figures accompany a story which explores death and its possible versions, its extraordinary power of invention, its links with imagery. By means of a history of the body and its representations, we are pressed into rejecting annihilation and turning mourning into an adventure.
