One of the protagonists of the Arte Povera movement, Giuseppe Penone (Garessio, Cuneo 1947) chose sculpture as the main focus of his art. Overturning the traditional conventions of art, he stressed the value of the process; by interpreting the behavior of the materials, he radically attributed equal importance to his own action and the action of nature.
