Pierre Bal-Blanc
Collective exhibition for a single body
November 28, 2019

The score Collective Exhibition for a Single Body was written in 2015 in Athens. It was performed for the first time (in 2017) with the title The Documenta 14 Score, and involved some artists who had participated in the international show. The Kontakt collection in Vienna, Austria, which mainly includes works from the Soviet Eastern European block, hosted the second adaptation of the original work, this time entitled The Private Score.
For the exhibition Sublimi Anatomie, Pierre Bal-Banc offers an interpretation of the score in the form of an anatomy lesson, revisiting this series of executed and redundant gestures linked to Renaissance practices, instruments and public dissection places.

In collaboration with the Accademia di Francia (Academy of France) in Rome – Villa Medici.
